At Creative Canary we’re committed to maintaining a community focus. From the clients we work with to the organisations we contribute to, we want the nest to be a positive influence on the world. Which is why we’re absolutely thrilled to announce we are now a sponsor of Shinju Matsuri!

what is shinju matsuri?

Shinju Matsuri, otherwise known as The Festival of the Pearl, has been around for 46 years. It is a volunteer driven multicultural festival that celebrates inclusivity in WA. Furthermore, Shinju Matsuri aims to re-educate and inform the community of the cultural heritage of Broome.

Since the late 1800’s Broome has had a reputation as a world-renowned producer of South Sea Pearls. As a result, Broome has attracted cultures from all around the world including Japanese, Chinese, Malay, Koepangers, Filipino and Europeans. This multicultural population of pearl industry workers joined with the local Aboriginal people to work on up to 400 Pearling Luggers that sailed out of Broome. Shinju Matsuri is a celebration of a longstanding, rich cultural heritage.

We’ve been working with Shinju Matsuri since 2016. The Creative Canary team has produced their new website, posters and signage as well as looking after all design needs. We’re delighted to extend our affiliation in 2017 as a Supporting Partner and we aren’t alone! We will be joining a number of major WA businesses and organisations who also believe in the importance of acknowledging the diversity and richness of our community.

Finally, Shinju Matsuri kicks off from 2-10 September. See you in Broome!

“Project3 started working with Creative Canary just over a year ago. Since then, the volume and quality of work produced has been outstanding. Designing and creating four event websites, event programs, and numerous design collateral elements for each of our many cultural and sporting events around W.A.

Phil and his team are an extremely talented, hardworking bunch who tackle every project with a positive can do attitude. Projects are always completed on time to a high, professional standard. With their endless creativity, Creative Canary will constantly strive to bring out the best in your business.”
